Commentary
Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated
He gives in one verse the mantra for offering the food, "mūlam…". First he should say the root mantra; then he should say "etat sarvopakaraṇānvitaṁ siddhānnam iṣṭadevatāyai nivedayāmi"; then he should say "śive havir idaṁ juṣāṇa". Joined: "hrīṁ śrīṁ krīṁ parameśvari svāhā etat sarvopakaraṇānvitaṁ siddhānnam iṣṭadevatāyai nivedayāmi; śive havir idaṁ juṣāṇa" ("this cooked food with all its accompaniments I offer to my chosen Goddess; O Śivā, enjoy this oblation"). This is the mantra for offering the food. "Cooked food" (siddhānna) stands also for uncooked food.
