Commentary

Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated

He should say "itaḥ pūrvaṁ prāṇa-buddhi-deha-dharmādhikārato jāgrat-svapna-suṣuptyante 'vasthāsu" ("from before this, in the domain of breath, intellect, body and duty, in the states of waking, dream and deep sleep"); then "manasā"; then "vācā"; then "karmaṇā"; then "hastābhyām"; then "padbhyām"; then "udareṇa"; then "śiśnā"; then "yat kṛtam"; then "yat smṛtam"; then "yad uktam"; then "tat sarvam"; then "brahmārpaṇaṁ bhavatu"; then "māṁ madīyaṁ sakalam"; then "ādyākālīpadāmbhoje arpayāmi"; then "oṁ tat sat". Joined: "itaḥ pūrvaṁ prāṇabuddhidehadharmādhikārato jāgratsvapnasuṣuptyavasthāsu manasā vācā karmaṇā hastābhyāṁ padbhyām udareṇa śiśnā yat kṛtaṁ yat smṛtaṁ yad uktaṁ tat sarvaṁ brahmārpaṇaṁ bhavatu; māṁ madīyaṁ sakalam ādyākālīpadāmbhoje arpayāmi; oṁ tat sat" ("whatever, from before this, in breath, mind, body and duty, waking, dreaming or asleep, I have done with mind, speech, action, hands, feet, belly or sex, whatever remembered, whatever said: may all that be an offering to Brahman. Myself and all that is mine I offer at the lotus feet of Ādyā Kālī. Oṁ tat sat"). With this the practitioner should make the offering of himself. (This explanation covers verses 177 to 181.)
