ईश्वर उवाच शतनाम प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणुष्व कमलानने। यस्य प्रसादमात्रेण दुर्गा प्रीता भवेत् सती ॥ १ ॥
īśvara uvāca śatanāma pravakṣyāmi śṛṇuṣva kamalānanē | yasya prasādamātrēṇa durgā prītā bhavēt satī || 1 ||
Translation
The Lord said: O lotus-faced one, listen. I shall declare the hundred and eight names, by whose grace alone Durga, the faithful one, is pleased.

Meaning
