Commentary
Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated
Saying the word "sahasrārcis" in the dative and then the words "hṛdayāya namaḥ", uttering the mantra "sahasrārciṣe hṛdayāya namaḥ" ("to the thousand-rayed one, to the heart"), the practitioner should worship the heart of fire. Then with the mantra "vahneḥ ṣaḍaṅgebhyo namaḥ", with scent, flowers and the rest, he should worship the six limbs of fire. Then the wise one should worship the forms (mūrti) of fire with the mantra "vahnimūrtibhyo namaḥ".
