The worship mantra of fire, verses 145 and 146.

Commentary

Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated

He gives the mantra for worshipping the fire in a verse and a half, "tāra…". First tāra, the praṇava, is to be said; then after the word "vaiśvānara" he should say the word "jātaveda"; then, having said "ihāvaha āvaha", after it he should say the word "lohitākṣa"; then after the words "sarvakarmāṇi" he should say the word "sādhaya"; and at its end the beloved of fire, "svāhā", is to be said. Joined, the mantra is "oṁ vaiśvānara jātaveda ihāvaha āvaha lohitākṣa sarvakarmāṇi sādhaya svāhā" ("O Vaiśvānara, Jātaveda, come here, come; O red-eyed one, accomplish all rites; svāhā"). Having worshipped the fire, now bearing the name of his own chosen deity, with this very mantra, he should worship with scent, flowers and the rest the seven tongues of fire, Hiraṇyā and the rest, with the mantra "oṁ vahner hiraṇyādisaptajihvābhyo namaḥ". (Covers verses 145 and 146.)
