Commentary
Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated
Now he gives the rule of offering the sixteen offerings, water for the feet and the rest, in order, in the verses beginning "ādyā-bījam…". Having said the seed of Ādyā, he should say the words "idaṁ pādyaṁ devatāyai namaḥ". Joined, the mantra "hrīṁ śrīṁ krīṁ parameśvari svāhā idaṁ pādyam ādyākālīdevatāyai namaḥ" is formed; with it he should give water for the Goddess's feet. With the word svāhā, that is, with the mantra containing svāhā, "hrīṁ śrīṁ krīṁ parameśvari svāhā idam arghyam ādyāyai kālyai svāhā", he should offer arghya on the Goddess's head.
