व्रते ब्रह्मवधः प्रोक्तः व्रात्यो मानवको भवेत् । केवलं सूत्रवाहोऽसौ चण्डालादधमोऽपि सः ॥ ९६ ॥
vratē brahmavadhaḥ prōktaḥ vrātyō mānavakō bhavēt | kēvalaṁ sūtravāhō’sau caṇḍālādadhamō’pi saḥ || 96 ||
Translation
In that thread rite it is as the killing of a brāhmaṇa; the youth becomes a vrātya, a mere wearer of the thread, lower even than a cāṇḍāla.
