Meaning

Many forms of Kālī are "awake" (jāgrati), active and responsive, in this age. But when the Kali age is at its height, "this form", as the commentary says, the form of Ādyā Kālī, is what helps the world. The Mahānirvāṇa Tantra presents its own form of the Goddess as the one suited to the darkest times.

Commentary

Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated

Etad rūpam: this form, the form of Ādyā Kālī.
