Meaning

The armour moves over the face: the eyes to Jagaddhātrī, "upholder of the world"; the ears to Śaṅkarī, "consort of Śaṅkara"; the nose to Mahāmāyā, "the great power of illusion"; the tongue to Sarvamaṅgalā, "all-auspicious". The names chosen often suit the organ: the tongue that speaks is given to the all-auspicious, so that speech may be auspicious.
