Meaning
The hymn of a hundred names begins. Every name begins with the syllable ka, the first letter of Kālī's name and the first consonant of the alphabet; verse 33 calls the hymn "composed of the heap of ka" for this reason. The first three names are each preceded by a seed syllable: hrīṁ (the seed of māyā, the power of manifestation), śrīṁ (the seed of Lakṣmī, fortune) and krīṁ (Kālī's own seed). Kālī is the Dark One, she who is Time (kāla); Karālī, the Terrible, with gaping mouth; Kalyāṇī, the Auspicious; Kalāvatī, possessed of all the arts and digits (kalā); Kamalā, the lotus goddess Lakṣmī; Kalidarpaghnī, she who destroys the pride of the Kali age; Kapardīśakṛpānvitā, she who is filled with the compassion of the Lord with matted hair, Śiva, as the commentary explains. The terrible and the gentle stand side by side from the first line: this is the whole theology of Kālī in miniature.

Commentary
Hariharānanda Bhāratī’s Sanskrit commentary, translated
Now he tells the hymn of a hundred names called "The Form of Ādyā Kālī", beginning "hrīṁ kālī…". Kapardīśa-kṛpānvitā: kaparda is the matted coil of hair (jaṭājūṭa); he who has it is Kapardī; he who is Kapardī and also the Lord (īśa), the master of the world, is Kapardīśa, Śiva; she who is joined (anvitā), endowed, with the compassion (kṛpā) that is in him is Kapardīśa-kṛpānvitā.
