Meaning

Four names on the kadamba tree, whose round, fragrant orange flowers are sacred to the Goddess: she who wanders in the kadamba forest, dwells there, delights in its flowers and wears them as a garland. The kadamba grove is the traditional home of the supreme Goddess in Śākta poetry, the forest of her island of gems. These gentle names balance the fierce ones: the same Kālī who wears bones (verse 19) wears flowers.
