Verse 92

समाप्याह्निककर्माणि स्वाध्यायं गृहकर्म वा । गृहस्थो नियतं कुर्यान्नैव तिष्ठेन्निरुद्यमः ॥ ९२ ॥

samāpyāhnikakarmāṇi svādhyāyaṁ gṛhakarma vā | gṛhasthō niyataṁ kuryānnaiva tiṣṭhēnnirudyamaḥ || 92 ||

Translation

Having finished his daily rites, the householder should regularly do study of the Veda or the work of the house; he should never stay idle.

Meaning

After the morning rites comes work: "svādhyāya", glossed by the commentary as study of the Veda (here, sacred study generally), or the household's business. Idleness is ruled out. The commentary reads verses 92 to 95 together.
