Verse 86

अतोऽत्र कथितं देवि द्विजानां प्रवले कलौ । गायत्र्यामधिकारोऽस्ति नान्यमन्त्रेषु कर्हिचित् ॥ ८६ ॥

atō’tra kathitaṁ dēvi dvijānāṁ pravalē kalau | gāyatryāmadhikārō’sti nānyamantrēṣu karhicit || 86 ||

Translation

Therefore it was said here, Devī, that in the strong Kali age the twice-born have the right to the Gāyatrī, and never to other (Vedic) mantras.

Meaning

Of the whole Vedic corpus, the twice-born keep only the Gāyatrī; all other Vedic mantras lapse for them in this age. "Prabale", strong, is spelled "pravale" here, with v for b.
