Verse 124

अन्येषामपि दैत्यानां सर्वे देवा न वै युधि। तिष्ठन्ति सम्मुखे देवि किं पुनः स्त्री त्वमेकिका ॥ १२४ ॥

anyēṣāmapi daityānāṁ sarvē dēvā na vai yudhi | tiṣṭhanti sammukhē dēvi kiṁ punaḥ strī tvamēkikā || 124 ||

Translation

Even all the other demons’ gods cannot stand face to face in battle, O Goddess; what then of you, a lone woman?

Meaning

Sugriva mocks Ambika’s challenge, asserting that even the gods cannot face other demons in battle, let alone Shumbha and Nishumbha. He belittles her as a lone woman, underestimating her divine power and reinforcing the demons’ hubris.
