Verse 122–123
दूत उवाच ॥ १२२ ॥ अवलिप्तासि मैवं त्वं देवि ब्रूहि ममाग्रतः। त्रैलोक्ये कः पुमांस्तिष्ठेदग्रे शुम्भनिशुम्भयोः ॥ १२३ ॥
dūta uvāca || 122 || avaliptāsi maivaṁ tvaṁ dēvi brūhi mamāgrataḥ | trailōkyē kaḥ pumāṁstiṣṭhēdagrē śumbhaniśumbhayōḥ || 123 ||
Translation
The messenger said: You are arrogant; do not speak thus before me, O Goddess. Who in the three worlds can withstand Shumbha and Nishumbha?

Meaning
Sugriva, taken aback by Ambika’s challenge, accuses her of arrogance and questions who in the three worlds could possibly stand against the might of Shumbha and Nishumbha, reflecting his disbelief and loyalty to his masters.
