Meaning
The narrator again. The sages whose home is the sky (vyoma-āvāsa-nivāsinī) answer the call, and the whole line (paramparā) of them comes down into the hall where Rāma and the others are. The word paramparā, a line or succession, is the same word used for a lineage of teachers. In the scene it means a procession; it also hints that the teaching about to be given comes down through such a lineage. The reader may see in the descent of the sages a picture of how wisdom comes: from above, in a line, to where it is asked for.
