Meaning
The sages speak to Rāma, who still sits with his face lowered (ānamita-ānana). They are anūcāna, the commentary says, those who have studied the Veda with its limbs from a teacher's mouth: the word means a learned speaker in the line of tradition. Their speech, verses 29 to 46, closes the Vairāgya Prakaraṇa. It is praise, but it ends in a promise. The reader may listen to it as praise not of a person but of what the person did: ask honestly.
