Meaning
Now the future. The supreme (the Self) is an ocean (parāmbhodhi), and creations are its little waves (taraṅgaka). The worlds yet to come cannot even be spoken of as countable. The commentary sums up the three verses: in the Self, the ground of the arising, staying and dissolving of endless worlds in all three times, the world is laid on (adhyāropa). The two images of verses 4 and 6, motes in the sun and waves on the sea, say the same thing differently. Motes are other than the light they float in; waves are nothing but the water. The teaching moves from the first image to the second.
