Meaning

An image from the marketplace. A heap of grain (bīja-rāśi) being weighed is filled, emptied and filled again and again; the grains never keep their order, the top ones go to the bottom. The commentary: so the multitude of beings takes a reversed order and arrangement compared with the previous birth. What was high is low, what was low is high. No being keeps its place across lives. The reader may find in the image a reason for humility: the positions of this life are not permanent ranks.
