Meaning

From here to verse 34, every verse ends with the same refrain: neṣṭaṃ dehagṛhaṃ mama, "the house of the body is not wanted by me". Each verse shows one more room of the house. Here: the senses are the cattle tied in a row in the yard; craving is the housewife who runs about restlessly; and rāga, passion, is the red dye with which every wall is painted (rāga means both "colour" and "passion"). The refrain is meant to be heard again and again, until the reader can say it of their own house without fear.
