Meaning
The reason: Rāma spoke from dispassion (vīta-rāgatā). The lord of speech (vākpati) is Bṛhaspati, the teacher of the gods and the master of eloquence, and even he could not say this. Eloquence cannot produce what only experience gives. Words that come from a mind that has actually let go have a quality no skill of speech can imitate. The other commentary adds: those who have not heard such words have lived in vain. The reader may notice the difference between a fine speech about detachment and a plain word from someone who is detached.
