Verse 39
दिशो भुजसहस्रेण समन्ताद् व्याप्य संस्थिताम्। ततः प्रववृते युद्धं तया देव्या सुरद्विषाम् ॥ ३९ ॥
diśō bhujasahasrēṇa samantād vyāpya saṁsthitām | tataḥ pravavṛtē yuddhaṁ tayā dēvyā suradviṣām || 39 ||
Translation
'(He saw her) standing, pervading all sides and all directions with her thousand arms. Then commenced the battle between her, the Goddess, and the enemies of the gods.'

Meaning
This verse completes Mahishasura's vision of the Goddess, revealing her awe-inspiring, multi-armed form that fills the entire cosmos. Without further ado, the monumental battle (yuddham) between the divine force of the Goddess and the demonic hordes (suradviṣām) begins.
