Translation

O Mother, your feet, borne as crests by the Vedas’ heads, place them on my head with compassion. Their washing-water is Shiva’s Ganga, their lac-like splendor rivals Vishnu’s red crest-jewel’s luster.

Meaning

The Goddess’s feet (caraṇau), revered by the Vedas (śrutīnāṁ mūrdhānaḥ), are prayed to rest on the devotee’s head (mama śirasi). Their washing-water is Ganga (paśupati-jaṭā-jūṭa-taṭinī), and their lac-red splendor (lākṣā-lakṣmīḥ) surpasses Vishnu’s jewel (hari-cūḍāmaṇi). Addressed as mātaḥ, she is the ultimate deity. In Śrīvidyā, her feet are the source of liberation. The verse reflects Shakta devotion, seeking her compassionate grace.
