Meaning
Śuka does not answer, argue or ask again. He falls silent (tūṣṇīm) and remains in the highest reality, which is pure (svaccha). The commentary: taught that he is the all-pervading Self, pure consciousness, without a second, he rested in it with his mind collected, free from the stain of the seen. The silence is the sign that the search is over. The question that had stayed with him on Meru and in his father's company has simply gone.
