सदृशं राजशार्दूल तवैवैतन्महीतले । महावंशप्रसूतस्य वसिष्ठवशवर्तिनः ॥ २ ॥
sadṛśaṁ rājaśārdūla tavaivaitanmahītalē | mahāvaṁśaprasūtasya vasiṣṭhavaśavartinaḥ || 2 ||
Translation
"Tiger among kings, this is worthy of you alone on all the earth, born of a great line and guided by Vasiṣṭha.

Meaning
Two things make the king's promise trustworthy: his ancestry, the solar line of Raghu, famous for keeping its word, and his obedience to Vasiṣṭha, his teacher. The second matters: Vasiṣṭha will soon be the one to hold him to it.
