Meaning
Freedom with or without a body is not something that can be perceived (na pramā-āspadam); terms like these, the commentary says, belong to imagination, not to truth. For Vasiṣṭha and for Vyāsa alike there is only one's own undivided oneness (sva-ekatā avibhāginī). The commentary adds why the knower's body does not fall at once: knowledge cancels only what contradicts it, and the body is the fruit of karma already begun (prārabdha), which knowledge does not oppose; as the impressions of a dream linger a little after waking, the body goes on until that karma is spent. With this the doubt is settled.
