Meaning

Citragupta is the scribe of Yama who records every being's deeds. He paints the musk mark on her brow, and her brow is Yama himself; her friend kriyā, action, prepared the musk. The commentary: musk reveals its fragrance, as deeds reveal themselves. The record of one's deeds is the dancer's ornament.
