Meaning
Here the sarga turns. Time is pictured as a lover with his beloved, kriyā, action; they delight in a pond where a lily blooms: sattāmātra, "mere existence", opened by the moonlight of cit, consciousness. The commentary: in the moon of the consciousness that underlies all, the lily of existence blooms. Behind Time's play stand being and consciousness, the two marks of Brahman. The reader is shown for the first time what Time rests on.
