महामायानुभावेन यथा मन्वन्तराधिपः। स बभूव महाभागः सावर्णिस्तनयो रवेः ॥ ३ ॥
mahāmāyānubhāvēna yathā manvantarādhipaḥ | sa babhūva mahābhāgaḥ sāvarṇistanayō ravēḥ || 3 ||
Translation
How, through the power of Mahāmāyā, that illustrious Savarni, the son of the Sun, became the lord of a Manvantara.

Meaning
This verse concludes the introductory statement by Sage Markandeya. He reveals that the entire story of the eighth Manu, Savarni, is a demonstration of the glorious and mysterious power (anubhāva) of the Goddess Mahāmāyā. It is by her divine will and orchestration that these cosmic events unfold.
