Meaning
This verse summarizes King Suratha's state of mind. He is trapped in a cycle of anxious and sorrowful thoughts (etaccānyacca satataṁ cintayāmāsa) about his lost kingdom, its finances, and its people. Despite being in a serene ashram, his mind is in turmoil, consumed by the past and worldly attachments. This intense sorrow (atiduḥkhena) is the catalyst that will eventually push him toward seeking spiritual answers from the sage.
