का ते पुत्र घना चिन्तेत्येवं रामं पुनः पुनः । अपृच्छत्स्निग्धया वाचा नैवाऽकथयदस्य सः ॥ ११ ॥
kā tē putra ghanā cintētyēvaṁ rāmaṁ punaḥ punaḥ | apṛcchatsnigdhayā vācā naivā’kathayadasya saḥ || 11 ||
Translation
"What is this heavy care of yours, my son?" the king asked Rāma again and again, in a gentle voice; but Rāma told him nothing.

Meaning
The father's love is plain, and so is the gap between them. Rāma has nothing he can say that his father wants to hear.
