Translation
Come from here and from elsewhere, all in vain, their feelings bound by a common agreement: the illusion of men's dealings with wife and friends is like a meeting of pilgrims on a journey.

Meaning
Travellers on a pilgrimage meet at a fair, agree to keep company, and part. Wife, son and friend, the commentary says, come from other worlds and other births, meet by a kind of agreement, and part again. "All in vain" (mudhā): the bond is real for a while and then over. The reader may love those near them as fellow pilgrims, without thinking the meeting is forever.
