Meaning
When youth surges up, the commentary says, it wakes the faults that slept in childhood (1.19.10) and cuts apart the virtues, as Dwivedi reads (vikṛntati). It is the play-ground of the wealth of sin. The verse connects the two sargas: what lay hidden like owls in childhood comes out in youth. The reader may see their own faults as having a history, and so also a way of being undone.
