Verse 9
चिक्षेप च ततस्तत्तु भद्रकाल्यां महासुरः। जाज्वल्यमानं तेजोभी रविबिम्बमिवाम्बरात् ॥ ९ ॥
cikṣēpa ca tatastattu bhadrakālyāṁ mahāsuraḥ | jājvalyamānaṁ tējōbhī ravibimbamivāmbarāt || 9 ||
Translation
'And then the great demon hurled that (trident) at Bhadrakali. It was blazing with radiance, like the solar disc in the sky.'

Meaning
In a final, powerful throw, Chikshura hurls the blazing trident at the Goddess, who is now called Bhadrakali, her fierce and terrifying form. The trident shines with immense power and light, compared to the sun, representing the demon's concentrated might and fury being launched against her. The outcome of this attack is described in the subsequent verses.
