Verse 6
सच्छिन्नधन्वा विरथो हताश्वो हतसारथिः। अभ्यधावत तां देवीं खड्गचर्मधरोऽसुरः ॥ ६ ॥
sacchinnadhanvā virathō hatāśvō hatasārathiḥ | abhyadhāvata tāṁ dēvīṁ khaḍgacarmadharō’suraḥ || 6 ||
Translation
'He, with his bow cut, without a chariot, with his horses and charioteer slain, charged at the Goddess, wielding a sword and a shield.'

Meaning
Stripped of his long-range weapon and his chariot, the demon Chikshura is reduced to a foot soldier. Yet, in his arrogance and fury, he continues his assault, now rushing at the Goddess with a sword and shield for close combat. This portrays his desperate and futile valor.
