Translation
"Today is this festival, this is the season, here is the pilgrimage, these are our kin, this is happiness with special enjoyments": so, vainly weaving a net of fancies, their minds restless and frail, people melt away here.

Meaning
The sarga ends with the voice of ordinary life: a festival today, the lovely season, the journey to be made, the family, the special pleasures. The commentary: so people of fickle, tender minds go on imagining and are destroyed. None of these things is wrong; what is vain (mudhā) is the net of fancies woven round them, the expectation that they will last and satisfy. The reader is left looking at their own calendar of festivals and plans, and asked what lies beneath it.
