Meaning
The conclusion of the argument. Since distaste for pleasure grows only from knowledge, and Rāma has that distaste, Rāma has the knowledge. The commentary: these enchanting objects do not please him. The "grounds of pleasure" (bhoga-bhūmayaḥ) are the whole field of enjoyment that surrounds a prince: palaces, gardens, entertainments, power. Rāma lives in the middle of it and is not delighted by it. Viśvāmitra reasons from the fruit to the root.
