Meaning
This is the Navārṇa, the nine-syllable root mantra of the Saptaśatī: aiṁ hrīṁ klīṁ cā muṇ ḍā yai vi cce, with Om before it. Aiṁ is the seed of Mahāsarasvatī, hrīṁ of Mahālakṣmī and klīṁ of Mahākālī; the mantra is addressed to Cāmuṇḍā, the Goddess who slew Caṇḍa and Muṇḍa. Here the book says to purify the hands with this mantra before the karanyāsa.
