ऊनषोडशवर्षोऽयं रामो राजीवलोचनः । न युद्धयोग्यतामस्य पश्यामि सह राक्षसैः ॥ २ ॥
ūnaṣōḍaśavarṣō’yaṁ rāmō rājīvalōcanaḥ | na yuddhayōgyatāmasya paśyāmi saha rākṣasaiḥ || 2 ||
Translation
"This lotus-eyed Rāma is not yet sixteen. I do not see in him the fitness to fight with demons.
