Meaning
The commentary reads the first phrase with the east wind in mind, the wind that brings the rain clouds: fortune is the way along which the clouds of sambhrama, confusion and agitation, arrive. She increases the poison of viṣāda, the sinking of the heart. She is a kedārikā, a small irrigated field bed where vikalpa grow: fancies, doubts, imagined possibilities, the "what if" of the one who owns much and fears for it. And she is a serpent whose coils (bhoga again) are fear. Each phrase names an inner state, not an outer misfortune. The verse turns the reader from the question "what will wealth bring me" to "what will it do in my mind".
