Verse 22

हतशेषं ततः सैन्यं दृष्ट्वा चण्डं निपातितम्। मुण्डं च सुमहावीर्यं दिशो भेजे भयातुरम् ॥ २२ ॥

hataśēṣaṁ tataḥ sainyaṁ dṛṣṭvā caṇḍaṁ nipātitam | muṇḍaṁ ca sumahāvīryaṁ diśō bhējē bhayāturam || 22 ||

Translation

Then the remaining army, seeing Chanda and the greatly valorous Munda slain, fled in all directions, stricken with fear.

Meaning

The surviving demon army, witnessing the deaths of Chanda and Munda, flees in terror, marking the complete defeat of the forces sent by Shumbha.
