Verse 26

सिं हनादेन शुम्भस्य व्याप्तं लोकत्रयान्तरम्। निर्घातनिःस्वनो घोरो जितवानवनीपते ॥ २६ ॥

siṁ hanādēna śumbhasya vyāptaṁ lōkatrayāntaram | nirghātaniḥsvanō ghōrō jitavānavanīpatē || 26 ||

Translation

The lion’s roar of Shumbha pervaded the space of the three worlds, but the terrible sound of a thunderbolt conquered it, O lord of the earth.

Meaning

Shumbha’s lion-like roar fills the three worlds, but the Goddess’s thunderbolt-like sound overpowers it, addressing the king and emphasizing her dominance.
