Meaning
This introductory verse (saṅkalpa) establishes the ritual framework for the Kīlaka Stotram, a hymn that unlocks the spiritual potency of the Chandi Saptaśatī. It identifies Shiva as the seer (ṛṣiḥ), indicating the hymn’s divine origin through the deity of destruction and transformation. The meter is Anuṣṭup, ensuring rhythmic recitation. The presiding deity is Śrī Mahāsarasvatī, embodying wisdom and eloquence. The purpose (viniyōgaḥ) is to please Jagadambā as a preparatory recitation for the Chandi Saptaśatī.
