Chapter 3 · Kīlakam
Verse 8
ददाति प्रतिगृह्णति नान्यथैषा प्रसीदति। इत्थंरूपेण कीलेन महादेवेन कीलितम् ॥ ८ ॥
dadāti pratigṛhṇati nānyathaiṣā prasīdati | itthaṁrūpēṇa kīlēna mahādēvēna kīlitam || 8 ||
Translation
She (the Goddess) gives and receives; she is not pleased otherwise. In this manner, it was locked by the key of Mahādeva.

Meaning
This verse explains that the Goddess is pleased only when the devotee gives and receives, not through other means. The Chandi Saptaśatī was locked by Mahādeva with the Kīlaka Stotram as the key.
